Returning home from Switzerland- 2/24

I am writing this after getting back to the convent from our trip to Geneva. It was hectic getting back, but I’ll get to that later. My favorite experience of our weekend adventure was for sure our day trip to Chamonix, France. Cat’s family and showing us around Geneva was amazing, but Chamonix was like another world. It was a cool little ski town, but we didn’t plan on skiing. We wanted to experience paragliding from the highest point in Europe. This thought both excited and scared me. I had never been paragliding before, but had done cliff diving, which gave me a rush that I can’t put into words, it was unreal. I knew paragliding would do the same! So, after reaching the town and scouting out the stand for paragliding, we all got suited up and headed up the mountain in the ski lift. We just kept going up and up, and honestly, I was starting to reconsider how good of an idea it was to be doing this. We reached the cliff that we would have to RUN OFF OF, and my guide was untangling the chute while I was staring out over a cliff onto the whole town and snow-covered mountains in the distance. All of the sudden, I am buckled in, and he tells me to start running. Next thing I know, we’re in the air over Mont Blanc, and the view was incredible. I loved the feeling that this experience gave me, and I felt like I was totally in the moment, and so happy to be where I was with my friends. While that was my favorite experience, my least favorite experience was trying to return home. Long story short, we had to run through the entire Geneva Airport to reach our plane at the furthest possible terminal on Monday morning, and almost missed it. We were close to, if not the last 4 people to board the plane before it took off. I didn’t like the stress that I felt booking it through the airport, I like to be very in control of travel plans, and this stressed me out beyond belief. I didn’t think we would catch our flight, which meant that we would miss our classes of the day, and then I just started overthinking which is very typical for me. But, all things considered, if almost missing a flight was the worst thing that happened this week, I’d say it was a pretty good week!
